It's the OEM tank with the speedometer removed and the hole welded close, bondoed and resprayed. Note the lights on the upper triple tree.

adapter for what? there is an adapter that is made for single fire ign systems - that is not used on the savage as it is a dual fire.

The couple I've messed with are 4 wire - the 2 functional wires go to the spade connectors on the coil - and 1 is a ground wire - goes real nice under the horn mount - the fourth wire is the power wire for the internal light - so depending on when you want the tach light on - you can just piggyback this onto the bat(+) of the coil and it lights with the ign switch on - or hook it to the lights and it comes on with those, so it can help run you battery down if you turn the key to parking lights on

The highest rpm listed in the manual is 6500.
I assume that's redline.   Grin

From what I've read I think 6500rpm is red line.

Have you had that long enough to vouch for it being rugged enough to handle the ride?

I think I could manage $35.00 for a tach. If you can manage a pic that would be cool. Maybe I can find one on the pit Posse site.

Hey, Thumperclone, I went to pitposee.com & coudn't find any gauges of any kind. Hit their "Search site" & entered "Tachometer" & got nothing. Can you give me the address of the page you found that thing on?

Thanks, that little dude looks pretty small. I like that. And it has an hour meter. That's cool. At the end of 3,000 miles I can see how many hours it took to make the 3,000 miles & get an average speed. I think I can make a bracket for it. I dont see me gluing it to the bike.
