Hey folks.  I've seen a couple of muffler threads here but I've not found some info I'm looking for regarding the Mac replacement muffler.  What type of clamps and sealant are required for this muffler for joining to the stock header and how does it fasten to the muffler support at the rear?  I've seen no pictures that give me a clue to either of these.

The sportster muffler on the bike now was an exercise in pain and frustration so I'd like something that's reasonably engineered for this bike (i.e. I won't have to fabricate a brace or joint fitting with a just so degree of angle).

It bolted up perfectly on mine.  When I got the bike, it had a Harley muffler which I changed out for a Supertrapp, then a Jardine and finally the Mac.  But it went on without any trouble.

Just a quick update/fyi.  Mac replacement muffler (slipon) is available for around 150$US.  The header side is angled to fit with the stock pipe but the rear fastener bracket on the muffler is not a great fit for the frame (I was able to angle it for a 1 bolt connection to a hole on the support).  

The muffler does have a core (baffle?) but both ends are single wall (core cuts the diameter but it is still a straight through pipe).  I used some shim stock on the header pipe/muffler connection (along with some muffler sealant) and a harley muffler clamp.  Seal looks good so far but I should have probably tried using the ring gasket that comes with the stock muffler.  

I'm main jetted to 155 now with the stock air filter (I may switch back to the K&N as I'm seeing a bit more black soot inside the muffler).  152.5 jet and the K&N 'felt' a little lean (lots of pops on deceleration and some loss of power in some areas).  The muffler is browning on the header side  (but it beats the situation I was having  with the harley muffler).  Bike seems to be running strong on the highway (the majority of my riding these days) and has that 'angry helicopter' sound.

All in all, a pretty good replacement muffler (if you don't mind the single-walls and the probability of discoloration).  Thanks for the input guys.  T..
