replacing front brake reservoir lid(cap)

Just wondering what it would entail to switch out my front brake reservoir lid with a chrome one i found online. Before i bought it i wanted to be sure its not a big deal. My stock one looks to have some sort of dried rubberized sealent around the edges. Only 2 screws holding it on, but would i need to seal the edges of the new one with some sort of sealent? Thanks guys! -DOC

I bet you dont really need a guess, but here's my best one.
I doubt theres a sealant used on anything with brake fluid on account of brake fluid will eat lots of stuff. I imagine if you pop yer cap you will find an o-ring type seal. If not, color me Shokkt! Who has been in here?

I have the Suzuki chrome cap on mine.  Simple swap.  No problem.

If you get interested in the optional OEM reservoir cover though, forget it.  It is junk.  I got it also, but the chrome was really cheap and started rusting through in just a couple years.  I tossed it.

The cap adds a little extra shine, just fine.
