Mirrors

Sorry to ask so many questions but im a newbie to the bike world and need the older, wiser, more experienced opinions of you guys! My 2000 savage had some damage to the right mirror and its impossible to see behind you. Needless to say i need some new mirrors. Just wondering what you guys recommend, i dont want a set of mirrors that rattle too bad or ones that i can only see my shoulders in. I would like to go smaller than stock if i could. will any 10mm mirror work on the savage? Thanks in advance. -DOC

Most 10mm mirrors will work, except yamaha's.  They have left hand thread on one side.  I got a set of intruder type off ebay.

I've tried 3 different handlebars recently; stock buckhorns, stock drag and an emco harley type.
And I'd say it's width that makes the mirrors more usable.  On the narrow drag bars, I can only use half the mirror.  Whereas on the buckhorns or harley, I can use the whole mirror and see behind me.

I have the stock buckhorns that came on the 2000 model. Does anyone know if these would be a good fit for a savage?http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CAT...

I think all zuki's have the same mirror mounts.

The stems are shorter than mine, so I can't say for sure.

Also be aware that these are wide angle mirrors.  I find the cars are small enough in the regulars.   Grin
