What the he11, if he's willing to risk his money, why shouldn't he make something on it.  Plus, he's making more money from you, so he's going to like you better.  Not that the clerk will know you from a bum on the street.  Walk in there like you're buying a bike, even though you only want a sparkplug, whole different attitude.

Don't worry about insulting the dealer. In my experience with dealers, they are not going to sell if it's a bad deal for them. It's just not going to happen. Embarrased my wife big time at a car dealer. I was insulted by thier offer. I looked at the salesman and told him what he could do with his car(back in my heathen days). I told my wife to come on and left her sitting at the desk. I was in our car and starting the motor before she even got out the door apologizing all the time to the salesman. Make an offer that's good for you and let him do the negotiating.  BTW, I sold cars at a chevy dealership for three weeks as my first post military retirement job. I had to quit because I couldn't look at myself in the mirror !!!! Good luck!!!

..., they couldn't understand why I was upset?
They kept the bike for another 6 months before they sold it at a lot lower price.
