RPM Redline Limiter

I was wondering if the OEM Suzuki ignition has an electronic limiter at the max (redline) rpm?  Can't find any mention of this feature.  It is typically an ignition circuit chip to stop firing the spark above the limiting frequency (rpm) where valve float starts.  Sure beats a mechanical limit with the inevitable "Uh Oh" and locked rear tire  Cheesy

Rok,

Quite a while ago, the Savage was tested in either the old Road Rider magazine or in Motorcycle Consumer News.  The tester mentioned that he bounced off the limiter while he was riding it on the highway.

If I were more organized, I could find the magazine and tell you the issue it was in.

I've been told that KLX is rev limited to 8000rpm (redline 7500) but I don't want to find out.

The limiter of the CDI accoording the test set-up of the SSM is 10,000 rpm.

Believe the valves are floating a long time before that RPM.

as far as I can tell, thjere is no effective rev limiter on the savage... (i.e. if there is on at 10k, you'll never get there anyway, at least under normal circumstances).  I'm gonna guess I've had mine up to 7.5 k or so...
