Moving Pegs and Controls Forward?
03/07/07 at 02:03:25
Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone has found a site where I can buy the bits needed to move my footpegs and brake/gear controls forward by about 3 inches. Down an inch too would be perfect, but not sure if that would be possible?
I've read the post on the Techie Forum, but the pictures are just blank with that little red cross in the top left corner, so didn't make much sense to me.
Being a girl, I have no idea how to make my own and my metal work is restricted to making a padlock and hasp type thingy in design tech class at school 20 years ago ...
So - does anyone know of a site where I can buy the bits? I'm in the UK.
Thanks

Try a few searches on forward controls. Be sure to set the number of days at something like 500.

Must be a pretty tall one. If I could get my pegs more under me I would prefer that. The farther forward they are the harder it is to stand up when a big bump looms. Seems like there are some control issues with that posture. It doesn't make me happy. If my legs were another 4 inches longer, I just might see it differrently.

I'm 5ft 9 and have an inside leg measurement of 33 inches ...
Which is why I need to move them forward a bit - otherwise I've kinda got my knees under my chin and its not very comfy.
That german ebay link didn't work ...
So I'm still open to ideas.

sorry about the link, had another look none on at the moment,
type suzuki savage then click on the worldwide sellers button on the left and look in shops, they come up now and again, or search on here as there are some homemade ideas here

Seems like there were instructions and templates in the tech section for making your own. Max

Also - I'm a girl, have no metal work experience, no tools, and not the faintest idea where to start with making my own.
Which is why I want to buy a kit, or something like that ...

Highway Hawk has some, not sure how much they move your feet forward.

FORWARD CONTROL 'HIGWAY HAWK' FOLD-UP LS650
If I remember right they are quite pricey. But can not remember where I found them for sale. Seems to me they were arround $500 shipping and all.

Sweet ride JRM8486. Were those forward controls difficult to put on the bike ? And do you find them a lot more comfortable than stock ?

Fairly easy, the only problem I had was getting the kick stand spring back on! much more comfortable for me .
