I have noticed on both my bikes that on the tank right where I grip it with my knees, that the pain is real scuffed up. I guess I would say it is dull. I have tried wax and wax and wax and it does not help. Someone told me today to try mirror glaze and an orbital buffer I got the buffer today but couldn't find mirror glaze. does anyone know what it tis and where to find it, and how to use it. Also will it bring the gloss back to the paint. thanks John

Just remember that as you buff it out, you are removing some of the clearcoat finish. The more you buff the thinner it gets....

So if you continue "gripping the tank with your knees" you'll be right back with even less to buff next time.

Personally, I'd try the much slower and more patient method of doing the rubbing compound by hand. If you don't have a lot of experience with the buffer you could be looking at bare metal if you aren't careful.

Yeah Buddy. That's at least twice this year. We better be careful or people will start talkin'.

I just know that it's virtually impossible to keep from scuffing the paint in those areas. A tank bib will help with zippers and buckles but the sides are just begging to get dull.

I wonder if there is a bra that will fit the Savage. I think that I've seen them for Sportsters.
