Hey BHolly,

The Dyna muffler only bolts up to one of the holes on the frame I assume since they both dont line up.  Correct?

I got some permatex as weel so when I put the new muffler on I should apply that on the outside where the header and muffler connect then put the clmap over that?  Seems the most logical to me.

Thanks,
Brad

The muffs that I have have rail mounts, so both muffler bracket holes are able to be used.  It fits almost perfectly straight across the bracket.  I got new rubber bushings/washers/etc at Lowes.

Yep that's right about the permatex.  Give the exhaust pipe & muffler opening a rub down with steel wool or something then slather on the silicone, put it all together, wait for it to dry.

Nice looking bike, what kind of windshield and how big is it? How does it feel on the road and do you have any problems with buffing your helmet? I'm still looking for a better shield than what I have. Not sure what will fit and if I want a 17 or 19 inch. I've been looking at memphis shades.

I got the 17 inch national cycle windscreen, cause it was cheaper than memphis shades one was.  It buffets my helmet a little, but still a whole lot less than with nothing there at all.

Right on mine has two bolts, so I guess I'll just bolt up one and clamp it down and hope that will do?

I recently put the dyna muff on with a 152.5 main jet, 55 pilot jet, K&N air filter, and shaved 1/2 the spacer down.  Jets are about 5 bucks a piece at the dealership. Much cheaper than a dyno tune. Never worked on a bike in my life till I did mine. I have always worked on cars so it's similar once you figure how the pieces fit together. It's like a totaly different bike. The sound is like a good set of flow masters on a chevy V-8. A deeper tone but not really louder. Does drive by labrador crazy if I run it in the garage, but not the neighbors outside of the garage. You will be glad you did it. Just take your time. Do the SEARCH on the site here for jets and mufflers and you can't go wrong. Outstanding technical help here!!!!!!

Kropatchek - do you have any extensions on your headpipe or how did you get the spacing out on the end of the muff. I am waiting till this week end (rain coming) to work on clearance from the brake cable. Thanks for any advice. I like the look without the spacer. Thanks!!

Well I already purchased the dyno jet kit, so there goes that.  Luckily I got it on the cheap from ebay.

If I do have the dynojet kit, do I still need to do the half-spacer mod?

Checked the bike last night and found the idle/mixture screw already drilled out which is a nice bonus!  I wonder what I'll find in the carb when i open it up?

I am not that familiar with the dyno kits except what I have read here. Some have adjustable slides. If yours does you don't do anything with the spacer. You make your adjustments by where you set the slide adjustment. I would read all the posts you can and especially Lancer's post on tuning carbs. He is our guru on carbs!!!!

Here is what my muffler looks like that I got from the HD dealership and you can see that only one screw will line up, I guess this will be alright.
