Thoughts on this ebay item (sporty muffler)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLEY-DAVIDSON-MUFFLER-CONVERSION-SUZUKI-LS65...

Thinking abotu picking this up, or should I just go to a HD dealership and pick up the smae muffler there?

Anyone have a sporty muffler?  Do you feel more power?

I'm alos looking at the dynojet and K&N air filter.  If I make all three of these upgrades would I feel a difference?

Thanks for your time like usual, you guys rock.

You oughta get a pair of used ones cheaper than that, shipping seems high too.  I got a used pair of Dyna muffs for $45 including shipping a couple months back.  The Dyna ones are nice too because the bolt up real nice on the exhaust bracket with no rigging required.

I still have the other one if you're interested, I'll let you have it for 20 bucks plus shipping.

The dyna muffler is a couple inches longer than sportster ......... I'll snap/post a few pics when I get home tonight.

I think there's a couple posts with sound clips of different mufflers ............ there were several different recordings last time I checked.

can't speak for myself as have standard rejet but know Lon (Thumperclone) has a dynojet, but think others on this site have said this is overpriced & can get same benefit with a few $5 or less jets & switch them around.

anyone?

I have a Sporter muff and 155 main jet in the carb and OMG what's a different in acceleration. More power ? I don't know but on street road and freeway, I can haul a$$  in a hurry if in need. The sound of it is debatable; when at idle, it sounds like a hovering helicopter
Grin and at cruising speed (60-70 mph) I love every thumping beat. On deceleration, it's awesome sound. In summary, the best $50 I ever put on my bike.
Happy wrenching

Thanks everyone, I picked up a set of Dyna mufflers (without crossover) from the HD dealership today for 20 bones!

Now on my plate is:

New air filter
DynoJet
Muffler
Front brakes

Since I'm a computer nerd and not a gearhead I think this is a challenging and exciting project.

Hey glad to see you found one ..... you should be pleased with the results.  Pretty easy to do as its a direct bolt up.  Just make sure you get a good clamp and some permatex or you'll probably have leaks.  Well, you might not, but mine leaked like a broken air hose.

I work in IT too, what do you do?  I'm a development project manager at a company in Starkville, MS and I love it!

I debug the Windows OS at Microsoft in Redmond WA.  No haters please.

Thx for the pix btw, they really do look nice.  I'm not looking to wake up the neighbors every morning just something with a bit more power.

I guess I can get permatex at any auto store?  The picture you have witht he clamp, is that a heat shiled in front of it or something off the stock bike?  Just want to make sure I have all the parts needed.

The clamp is #112 here
The heat shield is this

I picked the copper permatex stuff up at Western Auto.

Your bike won't be any louder than a lot of pickup trucks with dual exhaust IMHO.  I park my bike on the back patio at night and the neighbors aren't bothered.

Hey that's neat about your job.  What components of the OS do you get your hands on?

I work on Windows kernel debugging.  So if the system is hung, blackscreened, bluecreened, out of resources, etc.

Deal with ones and zeros on a daily basis and assembly.

Personally I like it but its definately not for everyone.

Nice looking bike, what kind of windshield and how big is it? How does it feel on the road and do you have any problems with buffing your helmet? I'm still looking for a better shield than what I have. Not sure what will fit and if I want a 17 or 19 inch. I've been looking at memphis shades.
