Wouldn't it be fun to meet in a central location & have a week to mess with them? A bunch O wrenching & mods all happening. I'll bet a guy could make a decent days wages just delivering ice to keep the beverages cool.. Sure would be a bunch O bikes with cam chains & clutches & carb work handled. Well, unless we spent too much on ice.

And that's exacly what he German guys did. They had a meeting where Blue Thumper  ( the Savage Guru) demonstrated some " How to's ".
Camchain replacement, carburator cleaning et.
Sorry, can't be there with you, tooooo far away.
But when you do meet my thought and advice will be with you.

Well you was just totter'n around and all, of course
now if I would just get off my duff pull the cover and do the dang clutch!

Yeah.  It's oldtimers disease ya know.  I pulled the cover, pulled the gasket, marveled that I didn't tear the gasket, laid down the gasket, and forgot the gasket.  End of file.

I also didn't want him to feel too badly if he already bought the gasket....but I imagine that his method will work just fine.  A little messier is all.

They charged me $15.00 for the gasket & about $6.00 for some Three Bond liquid gasket 1104   3.5 oz tube. It will be here longer than it will be good for anything. So, I have it today, spent about the same as if I had ordered & paid freight. The bike won't roll out before it gets an oil change & a look inside. Most likely, from what I have read here, it will be after it gets a different chain.

It'll probably work just fine.  Just messier.

You only have to put the sealer around that passage opening at the top, anyway.
