A good mate of mine loaned me a Suzuki manual from his shop today.
After checking everything I believe the Ignitor Unit is faulty. He told me over the phone that was the likely cause.Supposed to have 500 K ohms from orange to green but am getting just over 200.All the other parameters check out so I'll drop in to the stealership tomorrow & hopefully my problem will be solved.
It's also interesting to note that a cut-off circuit is incorporated into the ignitor unit so that if the engine turns in the reverse direction & reverse current is produced by the starter motor no sparking will occur.
I'll check that out in the morning & see what is happening there.I don't believe that is the case in this situation as the bike was running happily in a forward direction when it stopped.
I have been wrong before though, just ask my ex
Let you know when I know.
Thanks for the help guys. That's what I love about this website.Everyone trys to help out when they can.
