Explain further. Is this a new bike right out of the box? What?

Yeah, flooded.  it's been a basket case for how long? Clean the carb and sparkplug.  check the needle valve for cracked seal.  This carb is sensitive to dirt, gunk and probably boxes.

Did this one have a mod or do you still have the air box?
look in there for gas. probably has a sticking slide and gas will flow out of the tubes to the box.I had to take it apart and polish the slide. also check the float valve. ti could be sticking. good luck.

First i would check for gas flow. take fuel line off carb and run in to a container. gas flowes? cool! next take bowl off carb.  is gas in carb? no?    is float moving? needle it controls moving too?yes- take carb off and clean all holes and jets, and check slide. if its stuck it wont let gas in. if its a dirty carb, it might let enough gas in to start, just not enough,  fast enough to keep up with her needs. good luck.

Let me modify one recommendation.  Sure you want to find out if gas is in the bowl and if the float is working, but there is one safe bet that you can use without the hassle of removing the bowl...

First remove the bowl vent lines on the carb...they are the 2 lines on either side that appear to go up into nowhere.  If the float is working and adjusted right there will not be any gas overflowing the nipples on the side of the carb.  A stuck float will let gas overfill and run out....

Second, turn the petc0ck to ON, open the screw on the bottom of the bowl and drain the carb into a small jar.  Got good clean gas?  Then the float valve opened properly, too.  The gas should also stop flowing after a minute or so.  Did the gas stop?  Petc0ck works then, too.

If you run into anything strange with all this, then remove the carb  bowl.
