When you ride with that many "big dogs", you're bound to get pee'd on.

Having lived where you live, and gotten my bike from the Biloxi dealer...

20W50 GTX, year round. Yep, the car oil. Used the entire oil sump worth of 10W40 synthetic at the Little Sturgis (MS) rally in an hour.

Expect the speedometer cable to weep oil, fr its full length. And for the speedo itself to drip oil on the top of the engine. It gets wicked up, has to go somewhere.

The fuel line is a replace yearly item. Get reinforced from Carquest, the factory type is actually vacuum line.

IRCs will dry rot away to nothing, quickly. Heat and salt air.

Ought as well paint your chrome now...ask Max Morley, he bought my old fender rails. The front sides were okay, the insides were rusty. I ended up painting my spokes and hubs when I moved away from there, they were rough. And get some fork gaiters, they'll help preserve your tubes and seals.

Expect the muffler to last a season or two. The salt air gets in and rots them out, starting at the weep hole on the very bottom. If you ride every day, the engine heat significantly slows the process.

If Beauvoir hadn't been Katrina'd, I'd move back in a heartbeat. Good food, mostly good people, tons of great rides. And little snow (snowed on us in 96 at the shop in Gulfport).
