Anyone know if there is such a thing as as motorcycle snow tires?  I.e. w/ studs?  it's slippery around here!

Opportunities multiply as they are seized.
No spacer,60 pilot jet, 155 main jet, plug door, sportster muffler, k&n drop in, iridium plug, brake pedal mod,de-badged, Dunlops, bullet turn signals.

Sorry to bring up the old days again, but when I was still in england my dad had a 500cc Norton ES2 and every winter he would put on his old side car,and that is how we winterized our bikes ,none of us owned a car.

& as I recall, it would usually wreck the frame alignment for solo riding eventually.

how true, Mick - think sometimes it is difficult for an American even for someone here from that era, (or even someone from there from my generation), to envision England & Europe before WW2 where few had cars, & the only family means of transport was a bike & chair.

though my Dad learnt to drive & had a car (went with the job, I think) my Granddad never did & he & Nan would get on the bike & in the chair & evidently would most weekends trundle off for the day to Southend, the equivalent of Coney Island for those from the East End (Eastside) of London.

gotta say as far as snow (or ice) on two wheels, I've found it to be whoooooah!!! My experience is apart from doing something stupid - like hit the brakes too hard/fast/at all or try to steer it, at all, you either fall off or stay on, nothing you can really do about it. makes riding in rain like being on new, scrubbed in tires on ripple free ashphalt.

When I first got KLX, she had knobbly tires on, good in the snow but you need studs for ice.
She now has 17" sportbike tires so is no good for either!

If you take it slow, home made tire chains.

Take a chain and wrap it around the tire and rim.

A couple of bungee cords to keep tension.
