Savage Scrambler and Cafe

I've been digging up more Savage pRon again:

I'll take one of each please!

And I still say a person could own a Savage crusier/chopper/bobber, a Scrambler, and a Cafe version Savage all three for the cost of a decent Sportster. Which do YOU think would be more fun? I think I know MY answer.

I would have loved to had the scrambler growing up. We had some great riding sights in the blue ridge mountains.

I just noticed that BOTH of those have been converted to right side shift! Why would anyone bother with that anymore? The only logical excuse I ever knew of for it was so your shifter was on the high side on a left circle flat-tracker; which doesn't apply to either of these bikes.

Logical?

What about the cool factor?  Old nortons, for example, were right side shifters... 1 up, 3 down!  tricky (nowadays)!

The cool factor is there in that scrambler all right. I currently own seven bikes, some right shift(69 Triumph),
67 BSA, 1 down three up. 1967 Royal Enfield Mk1A(ONLY
759 MADE) 1 up three down. Left shifting bikes include:
2002 Honda dirt bike 1down four up,2005 Royal Enfield,
1downfour up, 2002 Independence 100+ hp 1down 5 up,and my beloved 2006 Savage 1 down 4 up. Because of nerve damage in my left foot and all the years of riding British bikes I prefer the right shift myself. Even Sporsters were right hand shift up until the early 70's. It also helps to confuse theifs.
