My Frame-off Re-built Bobbed Savage

I KNOW I'VE POSTED PIC'S ON HERE BEFORE OF THIS SAVAGE, AND YOU PROBABLY WON'T BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE AT ALL, BUT HERE IS MY 96' SAVAGE THAT WENT THROUGH A RIGOROUS 3-DAY FRAME-OFF RESTORATION RECENTLY.  HERE IS A LINK TO PICTURES:

http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/ChopDog_2006/?sc=1&addtype=local

HERE ARE 3 OF THE PICTURES:

DAY 1: GROUND DOWN WELDS AT RAKED NECKED AND BONDOED

DAY 2:  INSTALLED REBUILT MOTOR AND ALMOST ALL PUT BACK TOGETHER

DAY 3:  MANY MODIFICATIONS, AND UPGRADES LATER......

HERE IS A SHORT LIST OF THINGS DONE OVER THE LAST THREE DAYS, WELL ACTUALLY NOV. 6TH, 7TH, AND 8TH:
-GROUND OFF ALL EXCESS FRAME TABS, REPAINTED, AND REPLACED UPPER AND LOWER NECK BEARINGS
-RE-MOUNTED THE ALREADY RE-MOUNTED SHOCK MOUNTS BECAUSE THE BACK TIRE BOTTOMED OUT OFTEN
-COMPLETE RE-WIRE WITH THE ADDITION OF BLUE LUMING
-NEW PARTS CONSISTED OF: SPEEDOMETER, CHROME MIRRORS, CHROME LEVERS, SIDE MOUNT PLATE, FOOTPEGS, BRAKE PADS, GAS CAP, IGNITION KEY, AIR FILTERS, CHROME SHIFT PEG ECT.
-TOP END MOTOR REBUILD CONSISTING OF: 2MM BORE OVER OF STEEL CYLINDER SLEEVE, NEW ROCKERS, NEW CAMSHAFT, CARBIDE COATED PISTON, NEW GASKET SET, IRIDIUM SPARK PLUG, CHROME MOTOR BOLT KIT
-CARB REJET WITH #155 MAIN AND #55 PILOT

UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE RUN INTO A SMALL PROBLEM.  UPON FINISHING THE RESTORATION THE BIKE RAN PERFECT, HOWEVER YESTERDAY I SEEMED TO HAVE COMPLETELY LOST THE TOP END OF ACCELERATION.  I AM GUESSING I AM EITHER SUCKING AIR OR NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL.  I AM TAKING IT TO MY BUDDY NEXT WEEK TO CHECK OUT.  HE SPECIALIZES IN FUEL AND CARB'S.

What kind of rear fender are you using,I'm still not sure if I want to change or cut the stock one.

Excellent work.  I like that look a lot!  I know I'd never be able to get that done in three days!  Those handlebars look a lot like my 36" set.  I had to use risers to keep 'em off the tank though.  Do yours hit the tank?

The classically styled "digger", powered by a classically styled, modernized, AJS-based thumper...

I should truck freight mine to you for the final work. I don't have time to mess with it.

That is one fine ride.

Yeh the handlebars come about 1/16 from the tank.  A little closer than the thickness of a tie wrap.  It's  Funny because, a black tie that's around one side of the handlebars holding on the luming, actually hits the tank when the bars are all the way to one side.
