oooops! did i do that?

debby was telling me the other night, that on her way home from school, her bike made a squealing sound and acted like it was running out of power. so when we got home, i took it for a test ride, acted fine for me  ??? silly girl, theres nothing wrong with it, ride it. so   yesterday, i stood the bike up and had a look at the oil window. no oil, hmmm? so i go to town to run errands and pick up some 10w-40w, when i returned home i added 2 qts of oil to a 2 qt system  Undecided doh! appearantly, last month when the carb flooded and filled the crankcase with gas, i drained the dilluted oil out, and FORGOT to refill it  Embarrassed so how tough is this little thumper? as best as we can guess, she put something near 500 miles on her suzuki in the last month, with no oil in the motor, and no obvious damage to the engine  Shocked i told her, she shold fire her mechanic, she said she would see if she could find something else that he could do  Wink

might not want to discuss this if you go to sell the bike Lips Sealed

and a magnetic drain plug might also be a good idea

magnetic drain plugs .com

That would be without the spaces, of course.  I got mine at http://www.magneticdrainplug.com/.  Notice the lack of an "s".  It is a different site.

And that really is amazing to me that the engine has survived.

i dont tend to sell anything that i like,(we have over 30 vehicles now) i'd be more inclined to rebuild it, and keep it around as a spare, we really do like it.
i think a magnetic drain plug is good idea, thanks for the prompt.

Hey hopefully her bike didn't get the amount of damage that Stimpy's did.  Ouch!

30 vehicles ? what does that equate to in cylinders ?
are you counting lawn mowers and chain saws as vehicles ? Shocked

something near 100 cylinders, i do not own a chain saw and i dont include the tractor mower or gas powered weed eater but i do include trailers, and boats, as they require titles, registration, and maintenance. sometimes, the maintenance tasking can get a little overwhelming around here  Tongue
