How much valve noise is normal for these engines--my '06 has only 350 miles and the head end sounds like a threashing machine.  Still runs great though.  (I'm 130 miles from the dealer.)  Great site, by the way.

my 06 (mfg 2/ 05) has 5 k on od had dealer do valve adjust @ 4414 miles they were TOO tight at that point and they are getting noisey again next service is 7.5 k..
this bike kinda remindes me of some v.w.s (vasher boxen) i had over the years..personally the belt chirp is more of an anoyyance than the valves..
some others here with older bikes have opionions /more experiance....

There should be SOME noise, not  a lot.  Quite is much worse, thogh...

I like to hear a little tapping from the beast.  Let's me know it's happy!  Better to be a little loose than a little tight.
