Not there just yet but did take a step in that direction, buying a 2005 S50 (800 Intruder) this weekend.
For those newbies or those on the fence and reading these threads before considering the Savage, I'd say my experience with it has been very pleasant, especially after eliminating the speedo rattle!
Having been away from motorcycling for 25+ years prior, the Savage provided me with alot: confidence building, reliability, maintenance simplicity, and fun!!
Every bike has its own unique character---but the Savage is even uniquer.
People I've let on ride it (some on a dare after laughing histerically) finally get its appeal after they've ridden it---these bikes wouldn't be around this long without much change if they didn't fill some niche.
