I read about those in Motorcycle Consumer News, Oct. 2006. They tried a balanced wheel first, then took off the weights, then added the beads. The smoothest riding wheel was with weights & no beads, next was with only beads & last was with no weights or beads. In short, they recommened plain old wheel weights. They did say there was a more of a sense of gyroscopic stability with the beads & that the wheel felt heavier.
