Yep, mine's been running good since I capped off the vacuum line at the petcock.
My entire engine and exhaust is stock, except that I've fooled w/ the air screw a bit.
No worries!

BTW, my Savage runs better up here than it did in Houston, TX (30' above sea level).
Higher elevation will make your jetting richer. Sure beats having to rejet a stock bike. I imagine your stock bikes run great there.

i paid 2K for 96 savage (6400 miles). was that a ripoff?
