Daddy, you need to accesorize!

That's what my little girl told me. So that's what I did. I bought these to replace the stock rear signals. Since signals are not required in my state, I can mount the red lenses with no recorse. They are duel element so I guess I will hook 'em up to run with the tail light too.

Old school Harley bullet style marker lights.

If you look in the last pic of my "heap" thread, you can see how thse look installed. Had them on the bike from 2000-2005, would have gone the same route, but the kid wanted something different.

In CO, you have to have amber ones, unless you don't have any at all.  Unless it grandfathered, or unless it's a "street rod," or "home built," which my savage qualifies as.  Something to the effect of "a motorcylce is home built if it was manufactured after 1977(?) and is not readily identifiable as being manufactued by a major company." or something to that effect.  "Street rods" are basically the same thing, but built before 1977.  colorado revised statutes, 252 or so.

That I find interesting. Turn signals aren't even required in SC by what the AMA says.

South Carolina Motorcycle laws

How do the cages get by with the red signals?

North Carolina General Statute
Chapter 20
Article 3
Part 9
Section 20-125.1 a & b

sec. 20-125.1 Directional signals.
(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any motor vehicle of a changed model or series designation indicating that it was manufactured or assembled after July 1, 1953, to register such vehicle or cause it to be registered in this State, or to obtain, or cause to be obtained in this State registration plates therefor, unless such vehicle is equipped with a mechanical or electrical signal device by which the operator of the vehicle may indicate to the operator of another vehicle, approaching from either the front or rear and within a distance of 200 feet, his intention to turn from a direct line. Such signal device must be of a type approved by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.

[glow=red,2,300](d) Nothing in this section shall apply to motorcycles. [/glow]

Might wanna check your state to be sure.

Jim I found this on the SC Legislature.

SECTION 56-5-4590. Color of clearance lamps, side-marker lamps, reflectors, stop lights and back-up lamps.[SC ST SEC 56-5-4590]

Front clearance lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color. Rear clearance lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of a vehicle shall display or reflect a red color. All lighting devices and reflectors mounted on the rear of any vehicle shall display or reflect a red color, except the stop light or [glow=red,2,300]other signal device, which may be red, amber or yellow [/glow]and except that the light illuminating the license plate or the light emitted by a back-up lamp shall be white.
