I just took off my float bowl & gas ran out of the carb until the tank was dry. That's never happened before. There's no gas in the oil though. I guess it could be the gas cap, petcock, a leak in the line or something I haven't thought of. Any suggestions where to start troubleshooting this? Thanks for any input.

Your petc0ck was in the "On" position ? I'd say your petc0ck is bad. If your petc0ck was in the "Prime" position, everything's working properly.
