I would leave the half spacer in place. It sounds like it is running good. If you feel the need to further enrichen the mid range, you now know to move the clip lower.

Huh, I am relieved... I was afraid you tell me to replace the original size spacer. Which is completely impossible now

I didn't realize it was the 396, it may not need the decomp. solenoid, but still use the same wire harness would be my guess. (Lion the decomp. solenoid lets out cylinder pressure on start-up to make it easier on the starting system, but being a smaller cylinder it probably doesn't require it.

Cylinder head cover looks the same casting but lacks the provision for the decompressor completely.
Just collected another piece of (un)usefull information.
Thanks.

There is still some backfire when I stop the engine
However it is only a little "pooh" sound.
The other backfire is during riding when I release the throttle back for example at shifting gear. What can I do? Does it mean a rich mixture?
And is it all right that the engine has louder sound than before? I think it is caused by the bigger detonations am I right?

Bore = piston diameter.
stroke = how far up and down it goes. On most of the 652 cc savages here, the bore and stroke are both 94 mm.

Thanks for the "translating". However I still don't know the answers
Maybe a Japanese Suzuki mech guy knows it...

Bore (furat) = 73,2 mm
Stroke (löket) = 94 mm
According to one of my friends the 650 and the 400 have the same crankshaft, but smaller cylinder diameter.
It gives 24 HP @ 7000, and 26,5 Nm @ 4000.

By the way: today a guy in shirt and scooter-helmet with a Suzuki Burgman simply overran me without efforts... I didn't know it is such a fast scooter.

I have read that topic earlier. It got to my mind immediately after this "incident"
At first I didn't see that was a Burgman, I saw it only when it was going in front of me.
