I have Progressive - easy to deal with, inexpensive. I might suggest joining AMA - the American Motorcyclist Association (www.amaonline.com). They have a roadside assistance program, MoTow. In my opinion, it's money well spent to support the sport, anyway.

AMA MoTow is one, as well as Help N Hands at the same link.

There's also the roadside assistance program on the MRF website.

I already have AAA Plus for both cages and it covers motorcycles too.

I asked Hubby if we have a "plan" in case of a problem when we're out on the bikes. he said "yep...cell phone..take a nap till help arrives!".... Roll Eyes

I emailed AAA and they told me they dont cover motorcycles.

progressive can do insurance and roadside assistance for 75 a yr for me.

I have to call tommorow when im off and inquire more specifically about my particular area and see how many providers there are etc.

I cannot just rely on the cell phone its just us here, not much of anyone to call for help and my hubby is a builder and could be ANYWHERE and anytime.....

Yeah, various AAA 's offer different coverage.  AAA-Texas covers motorcycles at the Plus level and above.  It's part of the 100 miles of towing provision.  You just need to specify motorcycle when calling - kinda like specifying 4WD when calling so you get a flatbed.  I didn't even think about roadside assistance via Progressive.  That sounds like a good deal.

I've been riding with both Progressive and AMA roadside assistance.  Never had to use either.  I've used my cell phone once (test riding Mr. Hyde with the new tank...was "stranded" 0.9 miles from home).  The best luck I've had and seen with roadside assistance...was flagging down other motorcyclists.  They seem, at least around here, more likely to stop and help if you motion to them than even police are.  Either one of them will have the right tool, or one of them will have a trailer and truck, or a friend with a  truck and trailer, nearby.  At least, that's been my experience.

AMA Mowtow only covers up to 30 miles.  It's only $ 30 a year I think.
