looking for some input

I've been having problems getting my bike started and tracked it down to a fuel problem.(bike isn't getting fuel)  I replaced the old fuel thingy, sprayed carb cleaner throughout, and I just fixed the adjustment on the float.

The required setting for the float is 27.95mm +/- 1.  My float was sitting at 32.  Is it reasonable to think that this incorrect float adjustment could have been my problem? Won't be able to mount the carb on the bike till tonight but I'm new at all this and just curious what ya all think.

Yes. The float bowl had fuel and I could get the engine to idle just by continually squirting starter fluid into the air box.

May need to disassemble and dip the carb.  Jets and passageways may be clogged with 9 month old gas...
