How loud is it?

I'm a new guy to this forum and to motorcycles in general.I just turned 46 and feel the urge to ride.Call it a mid-life crisis,but motorcycling sounds safer than dating a stripper.I love the looks and idea of a big single but I am a little worried about the talk of backfires. How loud is it?On a scale of 1[a baby clapping] to 10[a shot gun blast]how would you describe it. Thanks for any help.

vroom1776 Serious Thumper Offline Posts: 2110 Gender:	Re: How loud is it? Reply #1 - 04/05/06 at 13:33:18 some times 1, sometimes 10. I usually get5 it when I turn off the bike. Most of the itme it was quiet ~ 3, but every once in a while I'd get a 10. It's a pretty easy fix, though.

chriss Guest	Re: How loud is it? Reply #5 - 04/06/06 at 01:50:10 when i bought my 02, i took it too the dealer and they punched out the plug on the carberator and richened it for me. i installed a supertrapp muffler and a k@n air filter and 15,000 miles later it has never backfired once

Don't like surgery unless it's required on humans, animals, or thing-a-ma-jig-machines.
