Hi everyone, please don't flame me for not searching, I'm new around here. I brought home a new S40 for my wife (she picked it out). I'm banished to my dual-sported XR650R. I love this new bike - stylish and simple. When I rode it home, it seemed to bang into gears a bit when shifting, unless I shifted rather slowly. Will this be loosening up over time, or is it something I'll need to pass on to my wife (shifting slowly)? I'm very gentle to bikes and want to treat her right.

Reply #4 - 04/04/06 at 11:43:38 It smooths out after a couple thousand miles, if it is a real problem run 20-50 weight oil. Shifting into first from neutral can be a problem sometimes, just rock the bike or feather the clutch handle if it happens.
