I've had a Savage since 98 and was active on Bert's forum and only one person came close to accumulating enough miles to almost roll the odo. He commuted a couple hours a day each way and had just under 90K miles on his when the cam chain tenionser went. He fixed it and last I heard his wife was driving it. as he moved on to a sportster.  He lived in or near San Diego, near perfect year round cycling weather. If one rode 5K miles a year it would take almost 20 years to get to 100K, so it is pretty unusual in my opinion. Max
