For Babbalou - Any problem with the cables?  Could you use the orig. cables or did you need to get others?  If so where did you get them?

Jack H.

The cables reached but only because I removed the risers. I had to find 2 more bolts for the clamps so it was more trouble than I originally expected. I got the bar at JP Cycles. If I had to do it all over again I would have looked for just a wider flat bar & left everything else the same. That's an easy switch. I don't know if the cables would reach on a bar wider than 30". They might on a 27-28 one. Best of luck with it.

I'm glad i stumbled upon the auction and was able to win it without too much trouble.  Seems like a low cost for all the items invovled, and what i don't use ill just sell.  I still don'nt know what that triple tree is from though.

To Bubbalou - Thanks for the info re the cables.  I think I will follow your advice and go with a wider flat bar.  The riding poaition is fine, but my hands are just too close together and I don't feel I am in complete control.

My bike is in Maine and I won't be getting up there until late June.  I have plans for the white spacer mod, main jet change, Russell Day-Long seat, Super Trapp muffler, 12.5 in. Progressive shocks, K&N filter and the wider bars.  Also a Super Brace if supply catches up with demand  It will be a busy summer, but by the time the frost is on the pumpkin, I should have a very serious thumper.  CAN'T WAIT!!!

Just saw your bike on the show us your ride thread. Heck of a transformation. Great job. Can seem like a lot of work, but I think well worth the time spent.
Decided whether to go with tank graphics or not? I think savages look really good without it, but I haven't finalized anything.
Mass ey. I'm originally from RI Scituate actually not Scituate Mass.

haha scituate rhode island you say?  well i think im going to hold off on the tank graphics for now i reall like the chrome/orange/black look.  looks real clean.  I have some harley handlebars coming soon and they should be more comfortable and add a bit to the look of the bike as well.  Thanks for the compliments, where are you living now? do you miss new england  Grin?

Rains a lot in the winter, the summers are awesome here. 16 almost 17 hours of daylight in midsummer. Very little rain. Riding heaven. Mountains, Volcanos, A rain forest with giant trees. The ocean and a bunch of lakes.

I still miss NE. I get to go back though, they haven't told me I wasn't welcome yet.
