It's been a long time since I've asked this one so I'll ask it again.
Has anybody modified the Savage exhaust port ? Could you give details ?

Clive, are you afflicted with oldtimers disease?  Have you forgotton the earlier discussions?  Or do you just like this subject so much that you want more of it?

Hey Lancer

I must be afflicted with something, the way I remember things it was o.k. to open the round bit up to 38mm but there was a ? over how much could be taken off the flat piece in the top of the port. Please correct me.

I shaved  the most protruding part about 1/4" and rounded it as much as I  could, so there are no sharp edges. I was scared to take more material, so I don't make a hole.
The thing is- I don't want to make a statement that I got  X horse powers thanks to the mod.

Has anybody taken a totally f0cked up head and seen how far out the exhaust port can be opened up. The only way we can know how far to go is by going too far. Using a destroyed head to experiment with might be the way to go, we wouldn't need to worry about screwing up something already trashed.  Grin
