Don't know about jardine vs sportster.  Most people say the Raask pipe is the best, but I don't have any experience with that either.  I got a cherry bomb, aka glasspack, and stuffed a thumbscrew in the back for a little more back pressure.

from jegs, part number 289-24210,

Due to the large body diameter, it fit right onto the stock muffler bracket without a problem.  It is held on with a strap clamp.

I took the CB to the shop at work and put two slits into one end to make sure it would fit easily.  I did not need them at all.  I sealed it up with some high temp (red) RTV sealant.

Be aware, though, these, and the raask, are extremely loud "mufflers."  When I get on the throttle, it's a 140 dB easy.  Even at idle, it's at least 90 dB.  Yep, that's illegal.  I keep it down 95% of the time.

Hi Bentwheel,

The bike has only had the two owners since new and I purchased it at 81,000km, after the engine had been reconditioned at 80,000km by the original owner, which included most  transmission  parts.

The last owner was a fanatic and took the bike to a Suzuki  Dealership  every  2,000km for servicing and this was mainly oil changes.

Reciepts from the last owner showed valve adjustment, cam chain, brake pads, new clutch, clutch cable, regulator, tyres brushes for starter, speedo cable  and a needle and seat for carby.

Since I have owned the bike I  have replaced the starter motor, throttle cable, electrical relay, brakes, tyres and an aftermarket exhaust.

The oil changes have been a major factor in the Longtivity  of the bikes engine.

Bike has 98,450km on the clock now and should kick on for many years to come.

Cheers from
AussieSavage

No I don't.  Maybe I can use my camera to record a little video and try and post it.  It has a very unique sound for a motorcycle.  Kind of a "BRRAAPPP" sound.

How many bikes can you find that essentially haven't been changed for 20 yrs and still sell well and you still see on the road?

Yamaha v-max.  Still a great bike.  Ugly for sure, but only the v-rod can hang with it.  I wanna get one  but the seat height is kinda high.  Maybe if u lowered it. hmmm

So that makes 4 good bikes that we can think of...  and I would question wether or not the Vmax is good... (lousy frame, too darn fast, heavy, expensive to insure, but the next moedl year is supposed to see a better frame)

Don't forget the Kawasaki KLR650.  I've got one of those in my garage, as well.

However, Kawasaki is going to give this bike a mild face-lift for the 2008 model year.

well, i have road a v-rod screaming eagle and a v-max, both of which were new, 06 models.  the v-max would smoke the v-rod, no questions asked.  v-rod was more comfortable but v-max is made for 1 thing, speed.  does that well.  not comfortable, ride too much like a cr0tch rocket
