I've uploaded the sound files to this site's storage and modified the links.  It should be okay now.

Grin glad you fixed it, I've been down & unable to ride & you know that's how I get my "FIX"

I got my Sportster muffler for $35 bucks so I'm not complaining any.

Took the Savage out for a ride this afternoon since we finally got some 50+ degree weather.  The spacer mod and idle mixture adjustment virtually eliminated the backfire, still get a bit on decel but nothing like it was.

DUMB question - how do I know what size muffler to get for my 06 S40?  I see most listed as 1"3/4 and 1"1/2 - which is the correct for my bike?  THANKS (not to bright on this subject yet).

1 3/4" will fit.  It's a hair big, but works.

Hey I've been looking for rail mounted exhausts & I'm not having much luck at all.

What's a good ebay search technique other than extreme patience?

I searched ebay with the word turnout, then I skipped over all the HORSE BLANKETS till I found a pair of mufflers. First 2 pairs were 'Screamin Eagle' and I got outbid, but the third pair were 'Harley Davidson' script not SE, no one else bid on them, so I got them for 60usd brand new in the box. Only used one, the plain one.

Got my Dyna mufflers this evening from the trusty FedEx man.  These things don't have a single scratch on them!  I swear they must've been taken off before the bike ever left the dealership...  Grin

It's off to the muffler shop in the morning, and then to the local indie bike shop for a couple of Harley muff clamps.

maybe I'm late jumping on this, 911radioman & you have already gone with a HD one, but I was very happy with the slash cut I got from Lancer. In my case it bolted straight on (think thumperclone had to fabricate a bracket for his but I have not seen his bike in a couple of weeks so can't recall for sure).
