Savagely Sore Wrist!
10/31/05 at 15:28:03

Don't have cruise on my savage so always thought my right hand would be sore after a long ride, but really hurt my CLUTCH hand (actually the wrist) on a long ride.  It's still sore three weeks later!

Didn't go through much bad traffic but there was some...16 hours in two days...maybe that's too much for somebody approaching the big 5   0  !!

Anybody else get a sore wrist on their Savage?

Never had that problem with either hand.  It was my butt that hurt the most.  So i made my own gel seat lol.
And since I got KURYAKYN ISO grips I thought about getting a throttle boss.  Check out their site.  They have alot of kewl stuff for cruisers.

The Throttle Boss rocks. I love it and wouldn't ride without it.

I know I need to get one.  I got the Stiletto End-Caps and need the longer screws with them.  Its a great xmas idea Smiley

I also found out if u modify the vista-lock u could use it with ISO grips from KURYAKYN.

install for ISO grips.

I might try it after I get the throttle boss.

learn to shift with out the clutch. less wear and tear on machine and arm. i have a problem with mine and mostly do the the work with the right.  if you really want to know how the bike handles, ride with just your right arm. it's an eye opener.

another tip is to hold the grips like they were raw eggs, use the least amount of force needed to hold onto machine.

I have the Kuryakyn ISO grips and I think they help a lot with comfort in the first place over the stock grips.  If I added their throttle boss attachment it would be basically only for looks.  I've had a Throttle Rocker for over a year and it works really well.  It's very easy to take off and put back on.  To me that's been important since I don't like to use it for normal daily travel - just longer rides.

Other bikers have told me about those things and how they love them - and I think they're only 8 bucks or so!

Love the throttle boss, bought them for all the bikes and they have eliminiated my arm going to sleep. Have one on both the throttle and clutch side.

It gives you a place to rest your wrist. Us old ladies need to rest all the parts we can. In fact I use that one more than I do the throttle side.

Kuryakyn Universal ISO Grips (6240)
The correct kuryakyn grips are the 6240's. Be advised, that adhesive is wickedly good at it's job, so be sure you get it right the first time.  I love the grips though.  I got mine on eBay for about $40 including shipping.  The local dealership wanted $60.

Listen to Sluggo.  The motorcycle transmission is a constant-mesh, clutching is optional.  Relax on the grips.
