Hey Rockin John
You heading up north for the Blues Masters concert in Oct?
Naw, I don't travel much to see people play. I figure eventually most of them will eventually get somewhere close enough to me so I don't have to travel long distance to see them. It has actually worked out very well for me, as I've seen a pretty impressive list of blues players from Delta, Chicago and country styles, as well as some more modern blues artists.
At one time, I was a charter member of the "Tulsa Blues Club" and was also in an active band in the area. Eventually the "TBC" changed the "Club" to "Society" for some stupid reason, and I quit keeping up with the whole mess. Then I quit playing gigs 12 or so years ago.
Now I seldom go see anyone play unless it is close and free
Thought I am kind of "Blues centric" I also enjoy listening to many kinds of music. For instance, I went and saw the fantastic guitar/slide player Jr. Brown some months ago. What a monster on the strings, and pretty funny act too!
