If u want to stay stock there is an awesome deal in the marketplace for a k&n drop in filter for like 25.00 with only 600 miles.

I took out my airbox, put two 90 degree pvc pipes with pvc glue(covered in black electrical tape) and put a 2.5 inch car cone filter on it.  Here is a pic of it.

with changing the filter and the I had to rejet.  Most ppl go with a 155 main jet and a 55 pilot jet.  Some people get the dynojet that has an adjustable needle.  I went with a 157.5 and a 55 pilot and it works great.  I noticed a huge increase in power and my gas mileage isnt too noticible of a drop.  I was thinking of just taking off the pvc pipes and putting a small sock filter kinda like greg650 has but smaller.  Im not all about welding stuff and I think his straight shot from the carb is prob the most efficient method.  I miss my side covers, because the attach to the airbox itself.  Oh dont forget the crankcase breather hose. I got a mini filter for it.

thanks guys, i really like the big kn conversion, i like how its hidden inside and he maintained the stock look.  What would i have to do with my carb to have it work right? what carbs could i buy to just replace mine also?

best bet is to go down to AutoZone or an auto parts store and let them order it.  

I cant remember the exact size for the savage.  I used a different size to get it to fit the pipe.

I ordered this one from thye Suzuki dealer.  No problem.
