choke doesn't stay out
09/12/05 at 07:54:11

Well, it's starting to get a little chilly here, and I need to use my choke some mornings.  The problem is, when i pull the choke out, it doesn't stay out unless i hold it.

I'm not really sure how it's supposed to work.  Is this normal (are you supposed to have to hold the choke out), or is there supposed to be some mechanism for holding it out?

It shoudl stay out by itself.  There are two settings, I believe.  You need to pull it out about an inch and a half for the last/richest setting.

Mine gets sucked in right after start up.  My bike does not seem to need it to start so I ignore it or hold it out for the first 15 seconds.

I just thought it popping back in was a "feature."

Mine doesn't stay out  for long either, so every 15-30 minutes I have to pull it back out halfway or it runs like krap.  Tongue

I think it is supposed to pop back in, but not immediately...

Mines the opposite, sometimes when  I'm running and the engine dies and I have to restart it quickly the choke will pop out automatically.  The first time it happened I couldn't figure out why it was reving so high.
