Any Colorado riders on here? Which jet to use?
08/03/05 at 18:18:51

Carb is apart and I'm re-jetting, fixing the spacer, Kand N filter, and throwin on a screamin eagle. What main jet did you use for this altitude? I picked up a 155 and a 157.5. I assumed one of these. I'm in the mountains as much as the city. Which one should I use?

You will have my exact set up.  I live at 1000 and currently have a 157.5 in.  I believe it to be a bit large and will probably change it to a 155.  Am I right thinking that you would want a smaller jet at altitude?  I think so so I would think the 157.5 would be to much and that even the 155 might be unless you have a cone filter instead of the drop in.  Have fun with it.  You will be very happy with your results.  You can change the main later very easily if you get stainless allen bolts to put it back together.  15 minutes tops.

Hey I'm, up in fort collins.  I've had my carb out a couple of times but never changed anything yet.  Anyway,  tonight/tomorrow I am going the KN pod and a glasspack exhaust.  I am going to start witha 155 main.  I am also going to guess that it will be rich, but I'm kinda hopin to get some backfires.  What is your average altittude?  I am at 4k feet above see, here.  If you are much higher, I think a 155 would be too rich.  But what do I know?

Where do you live?

spacer mod: see technical corner and/or do a search
edit: didn't mean to be rude!

Weez check out the tech corner. Vroom I live in Denver but I'm in the mountains riding 3-4 days a week. So I'm anywhere between 3-14k above sea level. It's a sinch to re-jet I just wanted to get it right the first time.

Oh Boy! By 7/2007 I hope to be a Colorado rider!!! Grin I'm going to Yoder (6000') and with my current set-up, it should be ok. To any of the Colorado Riders: I'm jealous! Also, how bad is the riding weather in mid-October? I'm planning a ride there, and it looks like that's the only time I can do it.

Mid October is a bit chilly, esp at night, but not unbareably so during the day.  You will definitely want good gloves and something to keep your  neck warm.  Good boots and wool socks.  Lined pants or long johns are a real good idea.  Wool cap.

One time a collegue (sp?) from the Ukraine, where they know something about the cold, and I were riding on my V* 1100 near Halloween.  He was cold.  Well, it was cold.

Dude, drop me a line and stop by if you are in the FC area!
