Aftermarket Seats For Em

Hi Em. Welcome
That seat won't fit your Savage. That seat is designed for a big Harley. There are only 2 replacement seats available designed for the Savage - GTS and the Suzuki gel seat. I believe you'll have to drill a hole in your rear fender to mount the Suzuki S40 seat but it'll fit fine.

Suzuki Gel Seat
There are also alot of aftermarket seat covers you can add to the stock seat.

who says they have to be "designed" for the savage, with a little fabrication any thing can fit any thing. none of the parts i used to build my bobber are designed for a savage, yet it came out pretty darn good if ya ask me.
used chopper seat from john d. can be bought online for 30 bucks, seat springs from a 30 year old schwinn seat, chrome fenders from an 81 gn 400, drag bars from krome werks 50 bucks. tail light from 50 international free. thats the beauty of this machine, you don't need designed parts, just an imagination, and some basic shop skills.

Thanks. I saw that lcs151 has a nice seat on her bike. She has a 98' Savage but again not sure if it would work on mine. I'm leaning towards the Suzuki Gel Seat but again would rather just have a single seat and not the pillion in the back. I'm so new to the Savage world I that I always end up at websites that don't have what I need or want.
I'll keep plugging along.

Hey sluggo. Thanks for the response. IF I had some shop skills, key word (IF).
I guess I'm looking for the easy plug-n-play. I like your seat but who knows if I'll convince my husband to do the work. He's busy rebuilding his 80' Suzuki GN400 and turning it into a cafe racer.
By the way, mine is black. I think yours looks black but I could be wrong. What is the best way to wash it and get a nice shine? Chrome too?

Hi, Sluggo, is that the original gas tank? Thought about going to something a little bigger?

you got a gn400 what a great bike, i got parts, not the fenders of course they went on the new bike. ,
the seat wasn't that tough. the color is purple, it just looks darker in the photo.
i wash it with all temp cheer liquid laundry soap, and a generic chrome polish. the key is to wipe it down after each ride, paying special attention to the front forks, letting the bugs collect will harm the seals.

Use car wash soap to wash it and wax it with Maguiars Car Cleaner Wax. Use it on the paint and chrome. Good stuff 8)
The seat you like in the for sale section is a Saddleman Travelcade solo seat and it's no longer available from JC Whitney or Saddleman.

Hi,
Does anyone have one of these GTS seats? Are they any more comfortable than a stock seat? How about a review?

Gitarzan had one on his for a while but put the stocker back on to sell his Savage. He recently sold the seat separately. He still haunts this site a bit and blesses us with his verse. You might PM him with any questions on the seat.
