Rear Fender

I am thinking of customising my rear fender and I recall seeing somewhere a post about a guy who used a harley fender to convert the standard fender to a more classic look...anyone seen it or am I dreaming....and while I'm at it...anyone got any ideas on a solo seat?

I do not have any ideas, but I do have a kinda related question.

Has anyone replaced the front fender to keep the rain off?

I know a guy who rides a Honda and says he hardly gets wet in the rain.  I am drenched from the feet to my waist within 30 seconds of the rain starting on my Savage.

If you've got the cash, I've got the cure... you'll have to do some redrilling though.

Front fender came from J & P cycles part # 13-200 and fits a HD dyna softail, wideglide and 4 spd FXWD models. You might find something at a swap meet with that info. Had to weld shut and redrill the mounting holes. The fiberglass fender for the same bikes comes undrilled as I remember but the man I bought it through had been less than happy with the glass one. 1999 era, things may have changed.

I know nothing, I only repeat what I've seen.....

Okay...
Dyna standard uses FXR/XL forks. Softail uses FL or FXR forks. FXDWG (Dyna Wideglide) uses a HUGE span fork.

For new, I've got two Cobra fiberglass front fenders for VS1400, a couple for VT1100s. And no metal ones except Piglet (Sportster) which are as useless as the stock Savage front fender (miniaturized Sportster fender). Got plenty of used GS and CB fenders.

VS and LS use the same triple trees...so the front fenders would work if you felt like redrilling the mounts.
You might could use V-star front fender, but it may need narrowed to fit, don't remember which forks the 650 uses.

I picked up a pair of rubber mudflaps from JCW for about $4 and the front one definitely helps keep my engine cleaner.

There IS an FLH rear fender that will work with some "convincing". Might want to change your pacemaker battery before ordering one, they start at $235 (for a cheap Taiwanese knock-off)  and go up exponentially from there.
