What replacement/upgrade bulb does a 1987 Savage require? ??? Would like a brighter/more powerful beam.
Since I have to take mine apart, might as well do the change.
Thanks
Ike

I replaced my headlight bulb with a Xenon bulb & it was much brighter. Paid $16.+ for a pair at Walmart. I looked at the ronayers website
http://www.ronayers.com/index.cfm
& it looks like the '87 bulb is the same as mine, an H4 60/55 watt. 8)

Swing into the shop. I've got them. I'll even put it in if need be.

Also have L.E.D. brakelight bulbs that have solid run function and "chase it's tail" stop functions. $18.95 plug and play...IF it fits the taillight bucket, won't fit every bike, just most, haven't tried a Savage fitment yet.

It's H4 or 9003. They're interchangable. These come in different wattages though & the Savage takes a 60/55 watt.

RideSafer.com has 100 watt high / 55 watt low bulbs for $15.
Can anybody think of a reason not to use them? Okay, they're not DOT approved, but so what? My cop buddies never write tickets for them - they don't even know how to write tickets for loud pipes. Other drivers will only see them in daylight anyway, and that's a good thing. I'm sure not gonna try to blind somebody with it. They'd just cross the center & kill me.
