The feds raided the state headquarters of the Banditos a couple weeks ago. The Hells Angels advance scouts were in the shop today.

Stay home. I've got a sneaking suspicion we're fixin'to see a turf war before long. Nothing on this side of the state is worth risking riding here if you don't live here.

If you want to see the mountains and the whales, I can't stop you. BUT, fly in and rent a car.

I'll let you know when the Seattle area is safe to ride in for a visit.

which brings us back to perry's dissucssion of "colors".

if you dress, act, talk like a "biker" with some colors you threw together and ride on down to the local chapters turf, then it's not a great time, if ever to be doing that.

i think people are smart enough to know the "bad places", and the bad guys. well, don't do the above mentiond things and there won't be a problem.

i wear well worn leathers, but not a single marking or pin. or do i stop in "biker" hangouts. i do however get pulled over a lot just to get the look over,  they love checking the lights. find a problem with one, then they can go fishing,  that's my biggest problem.

i got papers on the "piece", and always fess up when asked. i also am as a known good guy to local law, that is up a point, that point being the other "piece" that the dr says is ok but the judge says otherwise.  so i don't carry that one often.

imho, the "outlaw" bikers have benifited by the explosion of the sport.  they now blend in much better, easier to conduct the criminal activities that way.

i'm sorry the sky is certainly not falling.

don't forget the mexican mafia, they be working that side of the street hard. that and the county's most corrupt sherriff ever just died.

hence my vogon reference,  bad guys do bad things, just about everywhere. it's just when we look a little harder that we actually see it in action.  something about rose colored glasses and all that.

Well, there's been a bevy of big drug busts here in Nfld. lately ... but it's unlikely that outlaw biker gangs are involved ... just some out-of-work fishermen tryin' to get rich quick
