The MSF course starts with you sitting on the bike, putting it into first gear, and, feet firmly on the ground stretched forward, you ease out the clutch to rock forward pushing into your feet then clutch and rock back. Repeat until you have a feel for where the clutch engages.
Next step is to roll forward a dozen feet or two then stop. Repeat until comfortable.
Then repeat with a 1-2 shift.
Then go on to turns, panic stops, etc.
