THE STOCK MUFFLERS THAT CAME ON 01, 02 AND 03 INDIAN SCOUTS WERE SUPERTRAPPS.
THEY RAN AS 2 INTO 2 SYSTEMS.
IN OTHER WORDS, ONE FOR EACH 721 CC COMBUSTION CHAMBER.
AM I ALONE IN THINKING THESE MIGHT MAKE GREAT REPLACEMENTS FOR THE ASTHMATIC SAVAGE CANS??
I HAVE JUST FOUND SEVERAL NEW/USED (AS IN WERE ON STOCK BIKE BEFORE DELIVERY OR CHANGED AFTER 500 MILE BREAK IN).
ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS OR INPUT WORTH KNOWING  - AS IN, SHOULD I TRY TO EMPTY THE SHELVES IN THIS SOON TO BE CLOSED SHOP THAT JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE SOME OF THESE IN THE BACK??
MARTY

OH YEAH...WHERE ARE ALL THE OLD POSTINGS????

What's the inlet diameter, and how much will you need for a couple?

Trapp is a great pipe. Many would like to have one.
The factory 'Trapp's inlet has a an angle to accomodate the headpipe's angle of entry, examine a stock Savage muffler and you can see the Savage inlet's centerline is not the same axis as the exhaust.
Is the Scout pipe truly straight through?
Some sort of coupling might need to be made so these will work.
Check the hanger attachment for the Scout pipe it may take some rework to fit on a Savage.
There are guys around here that can make it work whatever it is.

Dude, if you have a chance to get a bunch of supertrapp muffs for a sweet deal.........DO IT !!!
If  at all possible, I NEVER pass up an opportunity like that.  If I had more money I would probably have a warehouse full today.

Thanx all for the feedback.
1-pipe is slighhtly smaller diameter than stock
2-it is straight
3-hangers are different between the front and rear cans
-front can will fit on hanger with about 3 inces of pipe added between can and headpipe- may need it anyway to step up pipe diameter and put needed curve in it
-rear can lines up with stock hanger if i can just bolt it on head pipe.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I"LL GET THIS ON - I AM MECHANICALLY CHALLENGED _ I CAN BREAKDOWN (SOMETIMES JUST BREAK) ANYTHING....THE OPPOSITE IS A REAL CHALLENGE

nuts!!!!!!!!!! just looked inside the cans - these do not have the supertrapp guts - that is an optional kit that can be put in-
these look like a baffle/glasspack combination
Anyhow,
I'll take any help on how to get one on the savage.

If you already have the cans, fear not, by watching ebay you can pick up the guts for them at very good prices.
