nice sentiments in the poem - made me smile (takes a lot to do that - I'm a miserable bugger!)
but when are you going to get off that tach's aren't needed stuff, sluggo. I haven't got one nor have ability to fit one like I've seen on site (biggish one in center of bars) but think they serve a purpose even on a low revving bike.
chacun a son gout, as our french cousins say (each to their own). I'd say tall ape hangers aren't necessary & look dumb but I go along with people who want/have them - their choice!

When I was in the Air Farce, or accelerated Boy Scouts as I am fond of calling it, I had to mow around the transmitter site one day. Thank goodness we had a self propelled mower. It was way hot in La. As soon as we were done & were about to l;oad that thing in the truck to take it back to the head office, I decided it would be fun to ride it. So, I fired it up & sat on top O the motor. Now, that blocks the air down thu that part pretty good I guess. I reached back & over rode the Guvnahh, & Off we went, using my feet on the front wheels to steer. I rode that thing for a few minutes as fast as it would go. Maybe 10 minutes, but I doubt it. Anyway, it never started again. They never even let me try to get it going..

I see that you have earned your poetic license.
