VS650, the Yamaha?

I think the V-Star (VS650) has a bigger speedo/gadget unit in the tank -- Don't know for sure, but I doubt it would fit without some modification.

IF you mean a Suzuki SV650, that's a sportbike and not even close to the same tank.
