the cold arms of winter are about to be unwrapped from the northern areas of the globe, so it's show and tell time....

I'm riding almost every day so I don't have the down time to do anything large.  Going to have to get a second Savage to ride while working on the one.

Anyhow, my last little thing was to replace the 105db disc horn with a 138db blaster:

I now sound like a large car rather than a little bike.  I need to add the high tone mate to sound like a Caddy.

Dude, did you mount the horn package on the bike too?  Roll Eyes

I bet that horn gets some attention.  I want a new one too.

I don't horn much, but when I do I want to be heard.  To get/do is a Mac slip-on silencer w/ re-jet the carb., and (I think next) a Superbrace.

$140 for a piece of aluminum is ridiculous -- but someone has to pay for the design and engineering and it's not like they'll sell thousands.

The good news:
Drag bars -  dynojet - painted rear hub same as frame - painted part of engine - pod filter (with a twist).

The bad news:
fixed 6 stripped or broken bolts (if you know what helicoil is, then you know the fun I had - 4 times putting the engine back together  Angry  each time 2 more stripped or broke - )
Bike fell 3 times while on lift - once, my fault - I put it on from the right side - seems this is not wise.  Lucky it was at the begining of the rebuild - nothing was hurt.
Two other times - I have no clue why it went down - didn't think I did anything wrong to the wife but ....

The other bad news - I still have wiring to do and to see if it will even start from the changes I made.  Hopefully, it will be ready for a ride to Daytona in March.  Never got a chance with all the problems to complete everything I wanted to do - afraid to take anything off for fear of more stripped out problems!

Of course, after getting everything back on, I notice that the gas tank is scratched -  so adding the flames like I wanted to will have to be done soon.

Until then, I guess I'll enjoy what I have (hee hee, if it starts - if it doesn't, I may see how much scrap metal will get me)

You painted your cylinder, eh?  I really like the tank bib and seat, too.

Good job.

The pod filter is mounted to the carb - airbox isn't removed but has been modified to hold wires and such - don't know why this junk doesn't fit back where it use to be!

Don't have anymore pics yet - no time right now.
