Tom Lindow Ex Member	Rear Tire R&R 02/06/05 at 01:45:34 I've read alot of posts about tires, but not about changing the rear tire. Do I have to remove the license plate assembly for clearance? ???

The hardest part is juggling the pulley/belt, wheel, brake hub, spacers, and wheel adjusters to get the axle rod back through. Aside from that, it's a piece of cake Tongue

If your belt tension is correct, you may want to take note of the marks on the wheel adjusters before disassembly too. Otherwise, you'll need to adjust the tension after you get the wheel in place.

Never touch the belt adjusters-just slide the axle out. To make Your life easier first diskonnect the brake, next pull the axle out , remove the spacers , slide the belt off the rear belt pulley, and then wiggle the wheel out.

i use the homemade lift method.

the thing i did to make it easier is to reverse the axle. this way the nut is near the silencer, and the axle pulls out to the left. this way you dont have to fanagle the axle past the silencer.

Hey, now that's a good idea!!! You should add that to the Tips and Tricks section in the Technical Corner. It isn't a problem with an aftermarket pipe, but with a stock pipe is can be.
