Just jokin'    I always thought your bike with the Duc front end really looked cool.  It had (has) a lot of potential.

We'll, there's plenty of folks with advice here.  I've never dug in that far, so I've nothin to offer.

I'll tell you what, if that was my bike I'd never paint it.  Just get it running good and let it look like a snarling old bar fighter.

[glow=red,2,300]MAKE THAT A FIREBREATHING RATT BIKE [/glow]

honestly, it shows the true strength of the basic platform, and the many directions on which you can build from it.  we all have.

Neat Avatar:

FWIW, IMHO, the Rat Bike is the acme of motorcycles.  Pure practibility, no show.  What is simplier and rattier than a Thumper?

After 12 years my DT175 was a rat.  I could park it with the key in the ignition without fear anyone would ride off on it.  Wendy's '72 Camaro is a rat with 180,000+ original miles.  In a dozen years or so my Savage will become a rat.

Whats the issue getting the crank nut off?  If its just holding the flywheel maybe I can help with a tip or two. I know a few tricks to do that. Simple and cheap...
